I assume if Arafat wanted to retire he would do so. Since he hasn't, I assume he is not ready to give up any reigns.

My post and it's point was that Sharon immediately heads to Rice to get his ideas, and those of the Israeli lobby who's meeting he just left, into a form that Bush can understand. You're earlier post seemed to imply that Condaleeza Rice was a disinterested third party instead of a fervent Sharon supporter.
