"Going with the same logic, you can also "prove" witches existed and were rightfully burned at the stake"
A fine example of ignoratio elenchi--(which is something else for you to "study" with your "google")! It also proves beyond any doubt that you had no rational position to exhaust! Witches have absolutely nothing to do with our discussion of Freemasonry!
You made a series of ignorant statements and were caught in your ignorance--plain and simple!
"all I have posted, is indeed correct"..."If you have specific questions, I would be happy to answer them"
Oh, Please! You really do have quite a sense of inferiority, don't you, Zonder? As well, you seem oblivious to the fact that certain puppeteers are making sport of your malaise and pulling your strings.
Faking competence is a feckless endeavor against those who know. A lot of people think they can come on the internet and "google" their way through argument. But knowledge cannot be faked to those who have it. You are already swallowing water, and if you get any farther over your head--well... <g>
If you read the following links and stil believe the Catholic Church is delusional as to the opposition of Freemasonry, then I suppose I can only declare your condition as hopeless!
The Catholic Encyclopedia is written by eminent scholars. Certainly, they have a point of view as a religious order--but subjectivity is something which applies to all people, and it certainly does not discredit scholastic merit.

"The following are deemed the principal means: (1) To destroy radically by open persecution of the Church or by a hypocritical fraudulent system of separation between State and Church, all social influence of the Church and of religion, insidiously called "clericalism", and, as far as possible, to destroy the Church and all true, i.e., superhuman religion, which is more than a vague cult of fatherland and of humanity; (2) To laicize, or secularize, by a likewise hypocritical fraudulent system of "unsectarianism", all public and private life and, above all, popular instruction and education. "Unsectarianism" as understood by the Grand Orient party is anti-Catholic and even anti-Christian, atheistic, positivistic, or agnostic sectarianism in the garb of unsectarianism. Freedom of thought and conscience of the children has to be developed systematically in the child at school and protected, as far as possible, against all disturbing influences, not only of the Church and priests, but also of the children's own parents, if necessary, even by means of moral and physical compulsion. The Grand Orient party considers it indispensable and an infallibly sure way to the final establishment of the universal social republic and of the pretended world peace, as they fancy them, and of the glorious era of human solidarity and of unsurpassable human happiness in the reign of liberty and justice"
"A. Pike, as the Grand Commander of the Mother Supreme Council of the World (Charleston, South Carolina) lost no opportunity in his letters to excite the anti-clerical spirit of his colleagues. In a long letter of 28 December, 1886, for instance, he conjures the Italian Grand Commander, Timoteo Riboli, 33, the intimate friend of Garibaldi, to do all in his power, in order to unite Italian Masonry against the Vatican. He writes:"
"The Papacy . . . has been for a thousand years the torturer and curse of Humanity, the most shameless imposture, in its pretence to spiritual power of all ages. With its robes wet and reeking with the blood of half a million of human beings, with the grateful odour of roasted human flesh always in its nostrils, it is exulting over the prospect of renewed dominion. It has sent all over the world its anathemas against Constitutional government and the right of men to freedom of thought and conscience. Again,
"In presence of this spiritual 'Cobra di capello', this deadly, treacherous, murderous enemy, the most formidable power in the world, the unity of Italian Masonry is of absolute and supreme necessity; and to this paramount and omnipotent necessity all minor considerations ought to yield; dissensions and disunion, in presence of this enemy of the human race are criminal". "There must be no unyielding, uncompromising insistence upon particular opinions, theories, prejudices, professions: but, on the contrary, mutual concessions and harmonious co-operation".
"The Freemasonry of the world will rejoice to see accomplished and consummated the Unity of the Italian Freemasonry"."
The Columbia Encyclopedia is likewise somewhat scholarly! :-)

"Freemasonry’s anticlerical attitude has also led to strong opposition from the Roman Catholic Church, which first expressed its anti-Masonic attitude in a bull of Pope Clement XII (1738)."
This will be more than you have ever read on Freemasonry since you were being potty trained! If you study it studiously for about a month you will have a smattering of knowledge. But if you wish to speak with any authority on the topic it will take several years of study! And you do not strike me as the scholarly type! <gg>
The Catholic Church is quite correct in perceiving Freemasonry as a threat to their power and influence--indeed to their very survival. The founding of America was a huge blow to their hegemony and had MUCH to do with Freemasonry.
The Church is well aware that Deistic dogma (from the largest secret society on the planet), does not buttress their power; rather, it undermines them and sows the seeds of destruction. They would rather fight a fanatical religion with an opposing God than fight rational ideas from a society that refuses to give God a name or a partiality, but seeks to unite all religions in peace.
As you work through the links I gave you (if indeed you can be "bothered" <gg>) you will find links to the comments of centuries of Popes on how Freemasonry has infiltrated the Church and threatens their power and survival. You may wish to ignore all of these facts and remain comfortable in the abysmal depths of your ignorance. After all, compared to your knowledge as an outsider who "google studies" (LOL!)...these Popes must appear as veritable dunces! <ggg>

How the Catholic Encyclopedia was written. I don't see Zonder's name there but what the hey, eh!
"The contributors were selected, not on account of their official position, but with reference to their scholarship and their special qualifications for handling the subjects assigned them. In addition to the names already conspicuous in Catholic literature, the list was drawn up after consultation with well-informed persons in various countries. Inquiries were sent to the Catholic colleges, seminaries and universities in the United States, Canada, England, Ireland, Scotland and Australia. The Bishops in the English-speaking countries were requested to suggest writers for articles on their respective dioceses and the political divisions, such as the States of the Union, in which their dioceses are situated. The heads of religious orders and congregations were consulted regarding the assignment of each article in which they might be directly interested. Authorities on Catholic subjects in the non-Catholic institutions of learning in this country were also invited to cooperate. By correspondence or by personal visits, the editors secured contributions from prominent writers on the Continent of Europe, especially among the professors of the various universities and members of learned societies. The fact that the list includes 1452 names, representing 43 countries, sufficiently attests the international character of the Encyclopedia." |
