No. The CIA independently determined the British intelligence was bogus, and told the administration at least three times by memo and by taking the reference out of a speech delivered in October 2001.

But don't worry, Tenet seems more than willing to take the fall for the President on this one.

The more troubling aspect of the misuse of intelligence data involves the supposed ties of Saddam to bin Laden. This is a total fabrication espoused by every member of the administration. The CIA says that the muslim fundamentalists and the secular Baathists were not working together, and further that they did not trust each other.

Then of course there is the intelligence on the WMD. There never was any intelligence on where or how much WMD Saddam had. That is evident by the fact that no WMD have been found.

What we have here is an administration that had already made up it's mind to invade Iraq, and then backfilled in the intelligence to justify that action. They ignored the intelligence that pointed against their decision.

I say that this kind of philandering with truth is a crime against the world and the American people. The truth has yet to be told by this administration. And further they have done all they can do to keep the lid on the lies. The Senate voting not to investigate how the intelligence was used along party lines is an example of how the republicans have circled the wagons to keep the lies hidden.

What do they have to fear by having an independant, bi-partisan committee look into this matter? Only one thing...the TRUTH.
