A counter argument is that by any standard the economy has never improved since it took a nose dive under Bush's policies

Tell me prophet, which of GWB's policies was it that made the NASDAQ lose half it's value before he was even elected?
You mean to tell me the NAS lost that much value and the economy was still great?

You may want to get a day job, prophet.

The economy did not take a nose dive under Bush's policies, it was already heading for recession before Bush took office, and was in recession when he had been in office for less than 2 months. The recession has been over for over a year and a half. Markets are rallying. Unemployment rates were much higher under Roosevelt. The deficits are a matter of controversy, unlike your factual errors, so I will leave them aside for now.......
