Actually, the poverty rate was only slightly lower than under Reagan, and growth was modest for his first term, averaging about the same as during the Bush Administration, including the recession. It was after the Republicans captured the Congress that growth took off. For whatever that is worth, of course.......

Of course, in your mind, the key is the GOP taking over Congress at Clinton's second term, but of course, you forget the GOP has more control now than they did then but the economy keeps getting worse. Then again, maybe it was the Rep. takeover in '96 that led to the economy turning down in 2000.

Let's just stick to what we know best.......the economy did well under Clinton's tutelage and stinks under Bush's.
