Edit: But cheer up, in some cases they do come around as their judgement improves with maturity.


The best story on this subject concerns George Clemenceau, who was Prime Minister in France after WWI. Some reporter asked him if he was upset that his son had become a communist. Clemenceau paused, and replied thoughtfully,

"My son is eighteen years old. If he were not a communist, I would disown him." Another pause. "If he still remains a communist at thirty, I will do it then."
