Yes, this I think would guarantee a Bush re-election, but (again) by a minority of the voters. There is no way any Democrat can out-Bush Bush. Lieberman is a me-too member of the War Party, but he can never sound as Vigorous and Forceful as Bush.

If the war goes as the NeoCons plan, Bush wins no matter who the Democrats choose. If the war goes badly, and the Democrats have put forward a wimpy War candidate, who goes along with Bush's foreign policy on everything important, then the Peace voters go Green (and Bush still wins). The only way the Democrats win, is if they put forward a Peace candidate, and the war goes badly.
