"The guy running the company today was involved in the events that were going on that led to demise of the top management tier of the company. I can't imagine that's going to sit well with regulators when they get him in front of some committee or regulatory body," said Brian Rohman, financial services analyst at money manager, Weiss Peck and Greer.

Rohman said his firm sold off their holdings in Freddie Mac stock a year ago because of concerns about risk in the agencies.
