The $US decline may have helped gold bullion but has not been kind to the producers. They are looking at cost increases and declining margins. I was bitching/warning about the South Africas whose profits have plummetted over the last two quarters. Australia and Canadian shares are not immune to the margin squeeze either. Of course, some mining companies hedge currencies and have done better.
