Here is the US Troop rotation schedule. I am really in favor of this type of full unit rotation (Another lesson learned from Special Forces). The old way for US Units was to provide individual replacements. Replacing entire units means troops who trained together deploy together; unit cohesiveness does not have to be built; command and troops understand each other; unit SOPs are known by all. SF has always preferred to deploy intact "A" teams and replace them as a unit. Though initially full team rotations were done, later as things built up in Nam, individual replacements were called for but nobody really liked that system and it was discarded.
