Dessauer was recommending this all the way down to $2, which shows that if one makes enough predictions, one of them will be right.

I have patronized RAD stores in the Palm Desert, CA area and these are in startling contrast to what you experienced. Clean, bright, full shelves, helpful clerks and a responsive pharmacy. But that's California.

It's a turnaround situation, as I noted, with a large gap between RAD's performance and that of CVS or Walgreen, so the opportunity to improve exists. Can they execute? I'm betting they can, although slowly.

What caught me by surprise was the $38 million in legal fees spent to defend former executives. I was not aware that RAD was obligated to cover those legal expenses, even after the defendants all pleaded guilty to fraud.
