Jacob,

There is a lot of chicken and egg stuff going on in the Middle East. You seem secure in knowing the root causes of all of this, but since you only ever report on the 'egg' side of events, let me ask these 'chicken' questions:

Why did Israel build the fence?

What events caused them to get rid of a Palestinian workforce - that was treasured only 4 years ago?

John

Now, who is responsible for all those unemployed young Palestinian men, in Qalqilya? And who is responsible for their rage?

Interesting how any mention of terrorism is missing from that little explanation. Do you think the Israelis stopped hiring Palestinians and are putting up walls for the fun of it?

Years ago, you used to be able to commute to a job outside of town, or get to your olive groves nearby, or sell your goods in Israel and the West Bank. Now, however, the Israelis have put up an 8-meter high wall, that totally surrounds the city.

Hey, look on the bright side. Things have improved. Back in the old days the Israelis would surround a village while people were at work, declare a curfew, and shoot people as they came home. Now it's just a wall.
