Since I am not old enough to objectively evaluate Carter or Ford, lets just say that Bush is really quite a bad president. Here are the reasons- 1. Bush created an unnecessary war with Iraq and got hundreds of US soldiers killed at a huge expense to US taxpayers 2. Bush is unable to negotiate with other nations such as Syria and instead has an administration that uses inflammatory rhetoric which is likely to incite another war 3. Bush "shot his wad" with lucrative tax cuts on dividends (in addition to these unnecessary wars) and spent us into the worst deficit EVER while- 4. The jobs picture in the US is collapsing due to the emergence of offshoring has taken millions of jobs overseas. Had Bush been a capable leader, we would have something to work with in the budget to generate some employer tax relief for hiring companies. Add all this together and you have an unhappy nation. I always kindof liked Bush but navigating around these global economic issues is clearly out of his grasp, as is the diplomatic situation. Since Bush isn't going to get any smarter I suggest better advisors. Wolfowitz is a disaster, way too extreme, for one. The military has shifted sentiment and now dispises Rumsfeld and indirectly Bush for making them sitting ducks while they perform administrative duties in Iraq. I suggest you ask someone who is actually in the military over there for confirmation of this. So in light of all this- unnecessary wars and death of US forces, worst job loss in peacetime EVER, worst deficit EVER (I'm not even discussing the other issues like the terror futures market which a 5 year old child could see was way out of line)- I can't believe that the only metric you can use to evaluate this man's performance is "honor, honesty, justice, and human decency". Just how decent is killing hundreds of people? Or losing millions of jobs to third world nations? Or giving away the federal budget to fund a useless no-growth tax cut? I am pro-growth and pro-business and Bush has done severe economic damage to this country and the sooner he is gone, the better.
