I saw the Tubes in 1985.
They put on the best live performance I have ever seen.
Back then, the Tubes had about 10 members filling the stage with an assortment of percussion instruments. Also, go-go dancers in cages, costume changes, audience participation, etc.
My then girlfriend jumped on stage and was escorted out of the auditorium. She snuck back in 2 min. later though.

Plus, their opener, Todd Rundgren and Utopia, wasn't too shabby either (understatement).
