Mom and I were out to dinner again. the 11 year old and 13 year old boys at home. I told them to cook their own dinner because we wouldnt be home till 7pm. Now they can cook, pancakes (from scatch yet), hot dogs, hambugers etc. But I suggested macaroni and cheese. Now I never realized how difficult it was to convey, boil water, put in macoroni and put some cheese slices in but live and learn. I'm on the cell phone, "kids boil the water, pour in the shells, pour into strainer, add cheese (cut cheddar if you want) stir". RIIINNG!!!! "daddy how do we know when the waters boiling?" RIINNGGG how big do the bubbles need to be?" RIIINGG!! How many packages do we pour in? RRIIINNNGGG!! How do we know when its ready"? at this point I told them "listen, pour in one package... stir once....taste in 15 minutes to see if done.... pour in strainer.....stir in cheese and call me if you have a real problem!!!" 20 minutes later I get a call (i'm feeling a little guilty about being harsh). Well, I ask how is it going? the bubbles were nice and big? "yes daddy we did that" well is it done? "yes daddy its ready" well did you pour out all the water in the collender? "yes yes we did all that" And put in the cheese? " yea even cut up some cheddar to" then why are you calling? Well we did all that, and the cheese is all melted, WHAT DO WE DO NOW.............?
