Pug's Boxing Gym carries selected Amazon Natural Treasures Phytogenic products at the gym and on our web-site. A favorite Amazon Natural Treasure's product is their Nature's Taste sugar alternative. Like all Amazon products, they are dietary supplements which do not require FDA approval. To be used as a sugar substitute in products such as soda pop or yogurt, Nature's Taste must be FDA or GRAS ( generally recognized as safe ) approved. Nature's Taste meets the requirements for GRAS (self determined) approval and is in the process of obtaining such approval! This means that Nature's Taste can then also be used as a sweetner in sports drinks! Pug's Boxing Gym would love to see Amazon Natural Treasures come out with a line of sports drinks which are comprised of some of AZNT's great phytogenic products sweetened with the calorie free, chemical free Nature's Taste! Can you imagine a sports drink fueled by Super Guarana & Nature's Taste!? We at Pug's Boxing Gym wish our good friends at the publically traded Amazon Natural Treasures the best of luck in their fight against the abusive practice of naked shorting on the OTC:BB, realize true stockholder value , and start researching those sports drinks sweetened by Nature's Taste! ON THE CANVAS! Pug's Boxing Gym's owner Gary Dobry was the feartured artist in this year's 'Scene In Chicago' Art show at the Judy A Saslow Gallery, 300 W Superior in Chicago. 'Scene in Chicago' runs from July 16th thru Sept.11th. Judy A Saslow Gallery was just one of the River North galleries participating in an all-out summer celebration of the arts in Chicago. Superior Ave. was closed from between Orleans and Rush streets . Absolut sponsered a street party in conjunction with the gallery receptions and free Absolut was flowing ! It was a serious summer party! Present and accounted for at the 'Scene in Chicago' reception at The Judy Saslow gallery, was a true heavyweight Champ in his own rite, Ed Paschke. Paschke gave the thumbs-up to Dobry's paintings and was off to his own opening across the street at the Maya Polsky Gallery. Also present were many of Pug's members who enjoyed the evening's festivities. It was a celebration of the arts in Chicago that delivered a real '1-2 punch' ! Pug's owner Gary Dobry's work can also be seen in an upcoming PBS edfition of 'ArtBeat'. Four paintings will be shown in the PBS series about Chicago artists and there is some commentary by Dobry himself. Dobry was also honored by a pictorial in the Chicago Tribune , " He Mixes Punches with Paintings" and was named in Pioneer Press's 'Diversions' as an important artist for new milineum. Diversions also honored Dobry with a nice piece/pictorial, 'Tale of Two Canvases'. Not bad for a 'pug'! Q & A Every month Pug's owner Gary Dobry answers your questions! If you have any questions you can contact Dobry at PugsTKO@aol.com. Q: Who do you think Mike Tyson will fight next? Do you think he should get a title bout right away? Do you think Iron Mike is the best heavyweight ever? Marshall Leighton, Arlington Heights, Il. A: I think Tyson needs some serious fine-tuning! There's some ring rust there in my humble opinion. No doubt Tyson was a great champion under the wing of Cus D'Amato & Kevin Rooney. It may have been the work ethic they ponded into the young Tyson, but whatever Mike was doing in the gym back then came to life in the ring. He was a terror during his reign. I believe he will be fighting Buster Douglas. I know the critique of Douglas, that he now is just a tomato can. I don't believe that. I believe Douglas was perfection the night he knocked-out Tyson for the title way back when. He kicked Tyson's ass. Tyson gave-up in my opinion. He was mentally beaten before Douglas ever knocked him out. I believe, like when Ali knocked out Foreman, he has never gotten over it It will be an interesting fight. Douglas has been more active but fights with his weight. Tyson really needs a good performance. In my opinion Botha was handling Tyson pretty well until he walked into that freight train of a right hand. The thing about Tyson, or any 'puncher' , is there ability to end the fight on one punch. Tyson vs. Douglas, in my opinion, will be a won by the guy who is 'mentally' there that night. As far as the best heavyweight ever? Hands down, Muhammad Ali. There has been nothing like him since and, I fear, we may not see anyone that special in our lifetime! Until the next Newsletter, 'keep 'em up'!
