LOL! no, that isn't true. Generally speaking, in California you are safe up to 9 mph over the speed limit...that final 1 mph to 10mph will get you the ticket though.

As far as what my speeding ticket was for, let's just say that I was going triple digits, but only got written up for 95.

Traffic school is an 8 hour class that you can attend if you get a moving violation. You still end up paying the fine, but the moving violation is not counted on your record and therefore it does not affect your insurance rates.
