That is because while it was billed ( and labeled )as free trade it is in fact a highly regulated and minutely scripted kind of trade.

In fact, it helped the economy somewhat, but not as much as supporters predicted, to be fair.

<<When we invaded Afghanistan, and then again when we invaded Iraq, there were predictions by those opposed to the use of force that we were playing into the hands of the terrorists, who would unleash wave upon wave of strikes against us, as new recruits clammered to sacrifice themselves in attacking us. In fact, we have foiled all plots thus far, and there has not been a direct attack on US soil since 9/11.>>

Let's not forget the price of gas will soar to over $3.00 a gallon, and the American people will not support the war when the body bags begin coming home by the thousands, and let's not forget the Saddam Fedayeen and Republican Guard will fight to the death for Baghdad.
Now the idiots are reduced to sixteen words in a 5000 word speech. Sad. The Democrats, at one time, had some statesmen who loved this country. No more. Political power is more important than our country. Follow the money and attempted power grab. The action of the Democratic party in Florida was a harbinger of the slime to come.
