I have been reading about Rove recently. I don't like what I've read. But he is no worse than so many other people in history. And the bad does come out, like puss from a wound. If there is an infection in the white house, it will come out- whether by the lance, or simply in the fullness of time. This country is robust enough to tolerate a great deal of foolishness, and even criminality, in our leaders- and whatever this current embroglio happens to be, I would put money on the republic surviving.
