JP,

Ivanhoe deposit is something like 600 km from Bejing and less than 275 km from major city Baotou (1.9 millions people). A 200 km railroad is planed on the Chinese/Mongolian expenses to link Ivanhoe deposits and Bayan Obo (a mining site) some 89 km north of Baotou between Ivanhoe and Baotou.

As for China/Mongolia... there is a new reality. Don't live in the past.

<<For 30 years, he has been trying to make profitable deals with them. He hasn't succeeded yet!>>

Company I used to work for (oil service company) made tons on money off the Chinese. If fact one year without our export sales to china we would have lost money. We were selling them equipment marked up 4x....they still do a healthy business with them.
