I had the analytical ability before I went to law school. The only thing law school does is to weed out the weak (if the law school is rigorous), give you some training in reading case law, researching, and legal writing. I think law school selects and rewards the analytical, but the ability is wired in, and not made. I suppose it could be cultivated a bit, but I cannot remember a time when I was not what I am now- even as a child I took every feeling and thought apart, and wondered at it. Other people never do that. It's probably as attributable to genetics as being good at track and field, or having a musical ear.
