Snake Eyes, did you read what you quoted? Especially this:

"ringing change in Baghdad will take time and effort. We will strengthen our engagement with the full range of Iraqi opposition forces and work with them effectively and prudently."

I kind of like the sound of that. What a novel approach. I would have agreed with you that Bush was finishing the job Clinton "didn't have the balls to do, if Clinton had said:

"We'll commit the lives and spill the blood of America's youth. We'll spend 10s of billions of dollars that are badly needed in the fight against terrorism, health care, and to improve the economy. We'll create a condition in Iraq where terrorism can set down roots, where Americans are the targets of anyone with a grudge, a conviction and a gun. We'll contravene international law and severely damage the credibility and goodwill of America throughout the world. We'll give every small nation an incentive to arm themselves with nuclear weapons as a DETERRENT to our new doctrine of preemptive strikes. And we'll do it all in the name of world peace and security for American lives."

Speaking of "balls," I think we should always keep track of the ball in play, don't you?
