What, do we have an Elvis phenomenon here? Dean has raw populist energy, and can connect with the voters on a visceral level? Or is it that the rabble must be roused, and the collegiality of the Senate makes it difficult to carry partisanship to the limit? Is Howard Dean the stealth Jerry Springer, or a young Truman "giving them hell"? Do some people feel more comfortable with retail campaigning (kissing babies, free for all question periods, photo ops) and some feel disoriented in the chaos? Hmmmmmm.......
