Bonds yields up now about .224 on the TNX, that's about 1 Fed rate cut undone today. I'm looking for an Enron sized derivitive blowup somewhere out there. Yet, no headlines, not even on the financial news. Something is screwy here.

The little guys (small regional printers) are starving right now, I think you can make a deal right here in the US if they are big enough to handle your job. You trying to do this yourself, or do you have someone out there getting bids for you? All I can say is counter them and see if they bite. Also, designers throw small jobs in with other bigger jobs all the time and get the job for free. The design of the big job might not use the whole sheet, so the small job uses the leftover part of the sheet. If the client buys a lot of printing the printers look the other way.

I've also heard there are some good printers in West Virginia where I think you'll find some pretty reasonable prices. It's almost as cheap as a third world country there in places. Avoid the print houses with slick reps in suits, you know the ones with firm handshakes that use your first name several times in the first ten sentences. You want to talk to a guy with ink on his clothes.

The other thing is some schools have presses which are a lot cheaper. Back in high school I worked in a press room and we took jobs from the community. This is true in some community and state colleges as well.
