I would also say that at some point with producers supposedly not wanting to hedge any more that as the "curvature" runs out [options expire, or go way in the money] that this activity would be reduced and/or positions could change... ie. maybe Commercials won't be short comex at all? There are certainly investment bankers out there that could fill us in on how big the i-banks 'straddles' are, and what % of their trading are what I described. Unfortunately I really don't know anyone I feel comfortable calling and asking. I'm sure it's pretty confidential, yet this info should be 'common knowledge' in certain circles. Any lurkers out there to fill us in???
