AC - You hit it on the nose, almost! Isn't this internet so wonderful? Your statement says that the world's work environment has shrunk so much. No wonder so much IT functions are going overseas. I think it will grow much more. It is very possible that maintenance of servers (undates, upkeeps, backups routines, payroll data entries, accounting ledgers, reviews and checking type of work, etc.) can be done from remote locations and at 15% to 20% the cost.
