Rumsfeld & co. just didn't plan for what happens once you drive the existing establishment out of power. I remember Rumsfelds drive for a lighter more mobile military to fight "todays wars".

As I reported, I know of a company that was supposed to be deployed that did not even have proper uniforms. That's how barren the supply inventory was. 6% of their vehicle had to be towed home. At the last minute their deployment was canceled. After victory was accomplished.

The time it took to destroy Iraq's resistance proves that using what was available was more the up to the task of eliminating resistance.
