I think anyone that worked in the CIA in 1990, then held various positions of increasing responsibility in government intelligence would know all about the rules... far better than you or I.

The clerics of the Dark Ages would debate then number of teeth in a horses mouth, consulting all sorts of ancient experts (Archimedes, Aristotle, etc). But no one would actually =look= in any horse's mouth! What!? What a concept!

I suggest you actually examine Kenneth Pollack's book. This worry about "if he revealed CIA classified material" sounds like one of those "Yellowcake" missions. Why bother?
