DEARBORN, Mich. -- Ford Motor Co. reported a 7.1% drop in total U.S. sales for July amid a 20% drop in car sales and a tough comparison with strong year- earlier results.
The auto maker said U.S. customers purchased or leased 297,265 cars and trucks from Ford, Mercury, Lincoln, Jaguar, Volvo and Land Rover dealers in July, compared with 319,975 in July 2002. Car sales fell 20%<<
