They looked plenty ready to me, and to Iraq. Decommisioning old ships is a smart move. Who needs battleships in today's world? Also, a lot of the excess capacity in the military was not needed after the fall of the Soviet Union. You seem to forget that the military was also being downsized during Bush 41. Same with Air Force, Navy capacity that was not needed post Soviet Union. So, you think we should increase the size of the military at this point?

Looks like that Democratic President did good. ..tried to divert funds from the largely American military killing (tax dollar black hole) machine to the American people, education and health care PAYING off debt. But in present times I understand, there are those of you out there that could care less about the AMERICAN poor, middle class, jobless, minorities, uninsured, sick, homeless, and more about creating/finding an enemy (such as Islam) deficit spending trillions to kill , subject and conquer all in a Bushwolfrummiecoulterushian OIL kind of way. Spare me "they attacked us", crap. Anger and hatred is very intoxicating isn't it? Specially when "you" are amoung the most materially blessed on earth. Interesting so many of the blessed are so angry, fearful,uneasy unsure and "your" present leader has kept "you" RIGHT! there since 9.11.01. K
