The numbers jump around on the un-employment filing too. I have come to the conclusion the "economic studies" means taking you wrong answer the period before and averaging it with the actual to come up with the new prediction.

I have started counting actual want ads in the papers to get a better handel of the changes in the economy.

I believe the desire to hire people picked up mid July. The momentum of this would make the last week higher hopefully than whatevr method they use to guessimate the hirings following their data.

The 1st time unemployement filings has dropped significently on the weeks the increase in ads started.

If fewer people are being let go and more employement ads are being placed in the papers, common sense would mean the labor market is expanding over the past 2 to 3 weeks.

Hopefully the ads I come up with on Monday/Tuesday will show the momentum still alive.
