Yes, that's so. I don't mean to knock tradition. I just don't think "we've always done it that way" is a good reason for anything in and of itself. I knock the people who do.

You could have "domestic partnerships",

I don't have any problem with that, from a practical perspective. I'm just railing against the squirrelly logic of those who claim that homosexual marriages should stay illegal because marriage is about raising families. And against those who deny that the present situation is unfair. They can reasonably argue that it is unfair of necessity, but they can't argue that it's not unfair.
