All well and fine.. But the US only imports a limited percentage of its oil from the Persian Gulf. It's the impact on the rest of the global economy that is so worrisome...

They can't afford the kind of regulations you are requiring.. And they're the ones who need access to cheap energy in order to develop economically.

But don't misunderstand me.. I'm one of those who believe US energy independence is a national security issue. I'm pro-nuke, and believe we should open up ANWR and regulated drilling off of California.
