Keeping all the crucial evidence secret, such as comms to the tower, transpoder info, NORAD tracking info of all planes that day, etc. leads in only one direction: an absolute need to keep the events on board from being public. The group of pilots in the meeting you linked to earlier concludes that no amateur could have made those planes do what they did, and that no professional would have consented to do that even with a gun to their head. Plus the fact that all planes made their targets but one, which was clearly shot down by US forces due to the debris trail, and add to that the Rumsfeld quote that day, "Go massive, sweep it all up, related and not", and the bonuses and advancements for all military involved even as this worst disaster in US history happened on their watch. This all makes for a creepy mulligan stew of anecdotal evidence that must be investigated, particularly the remote control capability, since it's difficult to see how it could have happened any other way. If the profered hijacker story were true, there would be no problem in releasing such, at least to Congressfolk immediately. If however any other scenario is at work, those tapes and transcripts will never be released in their original form and will have to be countered by a Pentagon Papers type release. Since there are several hundred who know pieces of the truth that would contradict the official line, the story of what really happened will come out eventually.
