<< American Nobel Prize laureate for Economics George A. Akerlof lashed out at the government of US President George W. Bush, calling it the "worst ever" in American history, the online site of the weekly Der Spiegel magazine reported Tuesday. >>

That's great. What a jerk. The guy goes to germany, a yesteryear beer garden country, to rant against the US.

Does Akelof have any memory of the Nixon era? The depressing Carter era, when home mortgage rates were 16% to 18% and unemployment was at 8% and gasoline was $1.60 per gallon ? (that was 26 yrs ago, Scott.. before you were even born .. )

Akelof calls himself an economist? Has he ever heard of Calvin Coolidge? duh !? And this do-do claims we are now in the worst shape ever?

What a biased, hyperbolic stooge Akelof is.
