i saw lawrence of arabia yesterday. he was english- he was pushing arab tribes to think of themselves as arab. he had arabs fight turks. turks were on side of germany in ww1. he had some arab tribes who wanted money. arabs were like bandits. they looted, killed. lawrence got in to killing turks and even his own wounded. english and french made deal with faisal. arabs didn't have control of syria, etc.- were colonized by england, france- where were earlier controlled by turks. after faall of damascus- arabs couldn't get electricity, water, hospitals, generators to work. arab tribes fought with each other, didn't trust each other- only lawrence had idea of an arab nation. koran was fine.
