having raised two boys of my own, who did NOT have a strong reaction about it

Which reminds me, have you seen "Queer Eye for the Straight Guy?" I find it amusing to watch how the straight guys react, or not, to all the handling by the gay guys.

(Just trying to be culturally literate, you know, watching that show. <g>)

I don't think the gay community is at all in denial about being different. What they want is equal treatment despite the
difference. And I don't think that they want your appoval except so far as it extends to allowing this.

Actually, no. They very much want approval. They want society to say that it makes no more difference whether you are heterosexual or homosexual than it does whether your are right handed or left handed. (In fact, less difference, because left handed people have to buy special scissors and learn to write in contorted ways.) They want to be fully accepted and approved of by society. That's the clear agenda, well supported by much documentation directly from the homosexual community.

You may feel that's all okay and fine, which is your right. That's not the issue I'm addressing. What I'm addressing is your comment that they are not seeking approval beyond getting the right to marry each other. And I think that's inaccurate.
