Hi Scooter!

That sure is a nice looking bike. I'm not sure but I may
have seen a few of those this past week on the road and in
town. The luggage on the side looks familiar. In the town
of Lake George there were plenty of motorcycles. Lots of
BMW's, Gold Wings, and Harleys that had my head turning.
Wifey thought I was going to strain my neck.

LG was filled with tourists. In town there was a place
were you could rent a two seated scooter thingamajig. The
two passengers sat side by side in this tiny compartment
with a steering wheel, windshield and gas pedal. It had two
wheels up front and a third in the back with two additional
wheels that acted like training wheels. The people riding
them must have been paid to toot the cute little horn
because that's what everyone riding them did. Toot-toot,
look at me! At first it was cute but after a while it was
rather annoying but it made me wonder if all the tooting is
what caught everyone's eye and made them want to ride it.

Anyhow, who ever was the person who owned this fleet of
scooter cars was very smart. His investment must be paying
off well because the road was filled with them. All he
needs now is to slap some advertising on these things.
They are cuter and more hip than a golf cart. Seemed like
the perfect vehicle to run up and down the busy strip. I
bet they will be popping up in all the touristy towns
around the country.

Anyhow, I almost bought a motorcycle while I was on
vacation but wifey talked some "sense" into me. (At least
that is what she calls it.) I saw a 1980ish Suzuki with a
for sale sign on it parked at the roadside with a sign
saying, "500 bucks. Needs tires and a switch for the head
lights. Runs great." It shined nicely and had no dents or
rust. It seemed like the perfect starter bike for me. My
guess was it was 750 cc.

Anyhow my convertible seemed as happy as my wife that I
didn't buy it.

Baseballwise, I have been out of the loop this past month.
The series against Boston provided some excitement but I
only saw the first game of the series last week. I was
thinking of Altair while I watched it. The Sox tied it up
in the 8th off of Rivera in relief. Luckily the Yankees
pulled ahead in the nineth.

There have been a lot of strategic moves made in the last
few weeks. It should be interesting to see how the
different races shape up.

I'm glad to hear your Jazz Club is back in business. I
wish we had a place like that near us. Perhaps I should
take Wifey into Manhattan one of these weekends to find
something like that. Gotta find a good baby sitter while
Monster-in-law is back home in New Mexico.

It's good to be home but it may take a few days for my head
to arrive. I think it is still hiking trails. It's going
to be a weird trip on the train tomorrow. Hope I find my
way through the city without my head and all. I doubt
anyone will notice... Everyone seems to walk with their
head down anyway.
