What is it you find so appalling about the US governmental structure, then? That there are only two parties that win significant elections?

They haven't been the same two parties through the history of the US, though. You do know that, right?

If old fart parties offend you, I take it you object to the Democrats, then. Seems unlike you, but they do claim Thomas Jefferson as their founder.

The other party has been the Federalists, the Whigs, and then the Republicans in the 1860 election. Seems your lovely Democrats were in bed with - in fact often were - slaveholders and the Republicans would have none of it.
