Iraq was a serious threat growing ever more dangerous. That
is well documented by many countries & international
organizations. Saddam left a clear trail in the public's
eye in addition to what he attempted to kept hidden.

9/11 changed everything. Given the global war on terrorism,
Iraq's continued violations of UN sanctions, Saddam's ties
to known terrorist groups, including his financial support,
providing safe haven & training facilities for them, plus
his horrific crimes against humanity; his forced removal
from power was appropriate IMO.

It SA seems might have been a fairly serious threat as
well. Apparently that hasn't been quite clearly
demonstrated like Iraq...... not unless all forms of
speculation are part of one's objective reasoning.

I don't think that SA & Iraq should have been treated
exactly alike. Apparently the Bush Admin doesn't as well.

Folks disparaged the US for failing to make use of
diplomacy with Iraq (like 12+ years is too little). I don't
know how much behind the scenes actions (non-diplomatic)
have been taken since it has yet to be made public. The
same could be said for diplomatic efforts not yet made
public.

I'm willing to let time & events unfold before I draw firm
conclusions on SA. I don't see any benefit from
participating in wild speculation about SA, let alone
drawing inflexible conclusions, pointing fingers & laying
blame. I simply don't have enough credible data points to
draw much of a POV on SA at this time. I'll leave that to
the self appointed elitists & experts that seem to be
everywhere these days.
