Yes i do feel threatened when I don't understand what is going on -- and so do our troops when they have no idea why people are doing what they are doing and don't speak the language. That is why we often kill civilians on the spot over misunderstandings. X the Unknown posted a report on theft by US soldiers -- it gets at the same issue. Ditto for searching of women. If you do not know anything about Islam, you will do things that would cause rage in normal people who would otherwise simply be going about their normal business. If you do not travel often, you are mostly ignorant of how much cultural difference there is in the world.
