It does seem as if it breaks down like that on the threads where we have talked about it. I Being totally stereotypical, elitist, and snooty, I would suggest that less affluent, religiously conservative women are more likely to be in the anti-gay-marriage group, and are also much less likely to be interested in a stock discussion board. SI, I think, self-selects for more affluent, more educated women, which often translates into more liberal. That's a broad generalization, of course, and can be attacked in any number of ways by those who love to attack things, but I also think there is more than a germ of truth in it. When the boys were on the swim team, they had to have a physical every year. You would have thought they were going to be castrated, the way they all carried on. Been there (well, not swimming, but other sports), done that, felt the same. Young males are very conscious of and often insecure in their sexuality (however bravely they talk). Those exams are intrusive! I think women have so many more invasions of their body they get sort of casual about it. After you have a baby, there just isn't much left to feel private about. With my having been at three births, I know what you mean. There isn't a thing there I haven't seen!
