Apparently Ho Chi Minh is a personal hero of yours.

I think your statement would have been more accurate if you'd said Ho was willing to fight to the last man, woman, and child. North VN was not exactly a democracy.

The US cannot afford to be seen as a conquering power with an army of occupation. It blows the cover off the whole operation.


But the US is a conquering power with an army of occupation. It just cannot afford to be seen as an army of permanent occupation.
