No matter. We can rest safe and secure in the near certainty that we in our perfect stasis of equality in exerting little or no personal effort for our own welfare are morally and ethically superior to the icky spiders, even as they devour us one by one. A smug but baseless sense of entitlement due to our own moral and ethical superiority is no small advantage to have when you are being gnawed into extinction by insects.
