The Alliance in Quebec or The BLOC in Alberta The factors that drive the Canadian polity are not be found in the shortcomings of the various rumps. Why can no party mount a charge on the Liberals ? An Alliance/PC merger would not win the Alliance a single seat in Quebec, the BLOC will never win a seat in Alberta, these are realities, Mr. Harper has to realize this as well. I am not sure if the Alliance will ever offer a national alternative, but I would probably change my vote if that ever happened. Since I am a Western Canadian voter, changing my vote at this point in time is not only futile, it would only serve to enhance the east/west division. Sheila Copps is an alternative, even if she is a wildcard.
