JakeStraw, re: >>"MSI, But you know what? That's just YOUR opinion... Funny how EVERYONE has one..."<<

Yes, most of the time people have opinions. That's what these threads allow us to share. Some opinions, however, are more illuminating than others and MSI's posts provide excellent examples when contrasted to yours.

Have you ever noticed how SOME people seem to be able to articulate THEIR opinion clearly, and with persuasive logic that narrows the areas of disagreement and allows the discussion to proceed?

On the other hand, have you noticed that SOME people seem to present unsupported opinion as if it were written in stone and handed down by GAWB. When a pattern of such postings is established, such posts encourage similar senseless postings. This second group of posters seems to feel the need to chortle and "HaHa-HeHe" a lot, and gang together with a few "neener-neeners" in reaction to the first type of posts.

Ever stop to think about which category you and posters like jlallen fit into?

If you think you have something to offer other than mindless, rubber-stamp approval of anything pro neo-con or anti Democrat, why aren't you able to articulate it with thoughtful, well-reasoned posts and add to the discussion instead of wasting time and space with silly one liners?

That's just YOUR opinion... Funny how EVERYONE has one...

That's the beauty of secrecy. You can legalistically claim no one has opinions based on facts, if you succeed in keeping the facts suppressed. You can theoretically get away with murder, even if the fact pattern incriminates you.

Its a weak legalistic position, which requires many hundreds of people to forever suppress facts, an impossibility even if they are all killed. It's starting to fail and so-called "national security secrets" are starting to emerge, in spite of efforts to the contrary, such as Rumsfeld's command to "take no notes in meetings", and the 28 pages of Saudi-Bush incrimination.

Its the same mind-set of a famous bank robber who said he robbed banks "because that's where the money is", but eventually got caught. This group will continue to loot the wealthiest nation in history, only as long as Americans are sheep willing to be sheared.
