The Founders correctly surmised the best gov't is gained by slowing down the legislative process. Time is probably better spent avoiding legislation battles rather than encouraging them. There is only so much bandwidth in the media, which is instantly clogged by special interests as soon as you declare a position on specific legislation, especially these battles. Better to stick with the program of educating everyone that responsibilities for governance lay not just in Washington. Once the point is made that Washingtonians aren't entitled to make decisions for the rest of the country can there be support for further legislation.
