Well, I mention visceral reaction to establish how far it goes against the grain, I make actual arguments for why that is reasonable.......

Are we supposed to be desensitized to every manner of
repugnant perversion prior to accepting/tolerating it as a morally equivalent
choice?

No. If you go along with Karen, you can still be repulsed by pedophiles.

But as to every perversion engaged in by consenting adults, yes. You can't be repulsed by sadomachicism, by whipping, by burning one's lover, by female genital mutilation (as long as it is done with a consenting adult, not just a child), etc. You have to accept these people and pretend that they are normal and healthy adults.
