And let's not forget that there is NOT any prohibition against homosexuals marrying. They are free to marry. They just can't marry people of their own gender. But that doesn't stop them from marrying, and as the article you posted pointed out, many do.

But you say they can't marry the people they would like to marry? The same is true of a whole lot of people. First of all, many people are attracted to and would like to marry people who have no interest in marrying them. (Do you know how many marriage proposals high profile criminal defendants get? Even Timothy McVeigh got some!)

Beyond that, there are a ton of people you can't legally marry even if you each want to marry each other. Anybody who's already married you can't marry, although there's no law against your going off to live "in sin" with them. . Anybody under age 16 you can't marry in most states, and under 13 in any state. Your brothers, sisters, parents, chileren, aunts, uncles, you can't marry.

And as you have pointed out, sex doesn't have to be a part of marriage, so fact that you may not want to have sex with the person you marry doesn't prevent you from marrying them. Many older couples marry without any expectation that they will engage in sex. This, in fact, was one of your justifications for homosexual marriage.

So let's not go around saying that we discriminate against homosexuals because we won't let them marry, because that's just plain false.
