I met Baba Muktananda , or should say I attended an early talk and dharshan with him when in my teens still .

I dare say that much of the purer aspects of Adi Da's "rise" was benefitted largely from being fortunate
enough to have been able to encounter , study and learn from that great Yoga master . There was one other great American born Yoga Master and world reknown Guru , that rose to inherit and become the spiritual leader of the Hindus in Sri Lanka and Fiji and several other Islands , and recognized throughout India .... Da Free John also tried to emulate and followed along after that one as well.. *** Robert Heinlein wrote the book
"Stranger In a Strange Land "
about the American born Guru, after encountering him and being drawn to him , after his return from India and time spent living with the "Old Ones". He was one of America's greatest Mystics of the 20th century, and recipient of the Uthant Peace Award in 1998.

But Muktananda was a great one also to try & mirror....from the great school of Northern Kashmiri Advaita Saivite lineage , one of the eldest conntemplative~based religious lineages in India & the world , and most ancient religion/philosophies....this dates back quite a long ways .

* ken Wilber is quite an interesting writer
